Jammu, May 28 (KNO) : Welcoming the Hon’ble Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti for announcing the raising of an exclusive police battalion for border youth, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Vice President youth Wing Varinder Singh Sonu said that such initiatives have vindicated the policies of the present government led by PDP and its seriousness for rehabilitation of Border residents.

He was speaking in a press conference convened here at party office today. Sonu said that the announcement made by the Chief Minister for equal benefits to the people living along the International Border (IB) as available to those living along the Line of Control (LoC) for their sufferings were indistinguishable. He said that we have witnessed Ms Mehbooba Mufti as first Chief Minister who publically declared the government policy to be takenup with the central government for rehabilitation of both residents of IB and LoC who have always been the victims of Border Shelling. He said that announcement of construction of Border Bhawans would at large benefit the residents of LOC and I B by way of safety and would not affect education of their wards as well besides other facilities. Sonu welcomed recent announcement of Rs-5 crore for beutification of Ragunath Bazar including landscaping of city Chowk and Shaheedi Chowk by way of remodeling the fountains and arcades and introduction of battery cars etc.

He said that such initiatives focused to over all development of Jammu shows the serious concerns of our Chief Minister . Sonu also thanked present Government led for establishing the Jammu Zoo project which is coming up at a cost of Rs. 121 crores. the largest Safari zoo in Northern India which would also have the largest aviary in the country. The zoo would have a 12-kilometre-long circular green track besides walking loops. Though the zoo is getting completely ready by 2020, part of it is being thrown open by October this year.

More so establishing Indian Institute of Technology at Jagti first phase of construction on the project would be completed by July this year with the admission of third batch of students. Also laying of foundation of Tribal Bhawan at Jagti which would come up at a cost of Rs 73 crore. It would have six blocks, an auditorium for 400 people and an Amphitheatre including many more projects which would benefit at large to jammu people. On this occasion Youth Leaders Girish Sharma, Parvez Khan, Maheshwar Chalotra, Ch Talib Hussain, Swarn Singh Shanty, Rajat Gupta, Naveen Sharma, Jodh Singh Saini, Vikas Upadhay, Gurmeet Bhajwa, Sunny Sangral, Babloo Sharma, Pankaj Gupta, Aijaz Sambriyal, Zaheer Khan, Mahan Singh, Pardeep Manhas , Deepak Gupta any many others were also present.
